Open Enrollment is your time to make decisions about your health benefits for the coming year. These digital tools are available based on whether you live in the U.S. (CONUS) or outside the U.S. (OCONUS), as well as your NAF and your status (active employee or retiree).

U.S. & overseas employees (except Air Force)

Meet ALEX, your interactive benefits counselor

ALEX is smart, friendly and easy to use. Just provide some basic information and ALEX will walk you through your plan options for medical, dental, flexible spending accounts and the health savings account. It also includes other NAF-specific benefits available to active employees.

Overseas Air Force employees & overseas NAF retirees

You’re eligible for the International Traditional Choice® Indemnity Plan from Aetna®.

Note: Overseas NAF retirees who move back to the U.S. are required to get Part B Medicare coverage. Your DoD NAF Health Benefits Program retiree coverage will be the Aetna® MAPD Plan.
