Choice POS II is a U.S. network plan, which means you get the highest level of benefits when you choose doctors, hospitals and other health care providers who are part of the Aetna network.

To find out which plans are available to you, use the ZIP code tool or ALEX, your interactive benefits counselor.

Key points
  • A large, broad network: The network for this plan is very large, which means many of your providers are likely in the network. A broad range of medical specialties and services is available in the network. To find providers, log in to Aetna.com and go to Find Care and Pricing. If you aren’t yet an Aetna member, use the provider search tool.
  • Network discounts: Network providers deliver health care services at network discounts, so you pay less for your care.
  • Quality care: All doctors and hospitals are screened before they’re admitted to the network, and they’re monitored on an ongoing basis.
  • Providers do the paperwork: Network providers will file claims for you and take care of the plan’s precertification requirement for hospital admissions.
  • Out-of-network coverage: Members can get care at non-network providers, but it will cost more than in-network care, and members may need to submit the claims.
  • Pharmacy benefits: This plan includes comprehensive prescription drug coverage.
  • Vision and hearing benefits: This plan includes glasses, hearing aids, eye care and more. See details in the plan summary documents in "Find resources & forms" below.
  • Preventive care: Preventive care services are covered at 100%.
  • Available as an HDHP: This plan is available as a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) or as a non-HDHP health plan.

HDHP with Aetna Choice POS II Plan

As the name says, an HDHP has a higher deductible — but you’ll pay a lower premium. That means you’ll have less taken out of your paycheck each pay period. The HDHP plan with the Choice POS II network offers access to the same providers, services and program features as the non-HDHP version of the plan.

With an HDHP plan you’ll:

  • Pay up to 23% less per year on premiums
  • Get up to $1,000 in a Health Savings Account (HSA) from your NAF employer to help pay deductibles and other health care expenses
  • Pay $0 in copays (except for getting non-emergency care at an emergency room)

Learn why you should consider an HDHP.

Aetna Choice POS II Plan

The Choice POS II Plan makes it easy to get the quality health care services you and your family need.

With a non-HDHP plan like this one, you’ll:

  • Pay more in premiums each pay period than you would with the HDHP
  • Have a lower deductible, so plan coverage will start sooner
  • Have copays for certain services
